Operators Worried About Nokia's Direction; They Want WP7

Share

While rumors about Nokia adopting Windows Phone 7 surfaced way before Redmond actually launched the platform, we know that the Finnish company is preparing an upcoming strategy shift.

Analysts have stated that the manufacturer needs Microsoft's mobile platform and we even tossed a few ideas and opinions around Nokia adopting Windows Phone 7 in our latest PocketCast (that is Episode 2 at 13:15). Well recently, operators have been expressing their concern over Nokia’s future smartphone direction as Vodafone, Telefonica and Orange would prefer MeeGo platform as an alternative to Android and Apple’s iOS (not that Apple's platform would be a possibility, really).

Among all third-party platforms, Windows Phone 7 would indeed be the preferred one if someone was asking the operators but it will all come down to Nokia - -set to announce something (big if you ask us) this Sunday, February 13, 2011. While Mobile Business Briefing notes Windows Phone 7 would be Nokia's chance to address its weakness as opposed to iOS and Android, at least till MeeGo i ready, we're quite curious to find out your thoughts: what do you think is the platform Nokia should adopt and why?
